Chris, If your intent was to set off a religious war:-) you have selected the right topic. My super cringes at the mention of cycle programming. Others I have associated with swear by it. I to went to school about the same time and in my present job I have had the "opportunity" to work with it, it's a fairly simple process of read-process-write and can be a tool for simple report generation, but it can get old quick when you have to go in and alter. Of course that has been my experience.
