I couldn't have said it better myself, and I have tried! So lets
petition IBM that they place a 400 for open source development!
If we can get an open source project going a few things will happen;
cost of software will go down, stability of software will go up,
expertise of programmers will go up, workload of individual programmers
will go down, more open source projects will crop up.
IBM should want to be deeply involved in the open source movement
because if the above statement is correct, and it has been proven to be
in the linux world, then the AS/400 becomes more attractive to potential
customers.
When a VAR can say to a customer, hey buy the AS/400 and download
[insert open source project here] I don't even have to finish the
thought.
So lets start an email campaign to get IBM involved!
Enough whining!
