The problem we are having is that the old system outputs a date a little
differently than the new system.

old : 7/31/99
new : 07/31/99

is there a way to output a Date Type in *mdy & drop the leading zero? I
know how to move to a 6 digit & use an edit code but there are hundreds
of programs involved and many have 2 or 3 dates to be output.

I would look at the Process option you can with the two mentioned below you can
get only the positons 6 thru 74 with *RPGSRCCOL and 6 thru 100 with
*RPGLESRCCOL

Process option . . . . . . . . . OPTION

*RPGSRCCOL
*RPGLESRCCOL
