Use the File Information Data Structure to retrieve that RRN for the file. We save this into a hidden field to do the same thing you are talking about. We setll and reade a logical, retrieving the RRN, (which is the PF RRN). We then chan to the PF by RRN to update or use a keyed delete. Our PF is unkeyed so when defined with a K in the F spec, the key is the RRN. Christopher K. I am doing a maintenance program on a file without a key. The file is filled daily and after processing the records are deleted and the file reorged. The RPG program assumes the record numbers will be the same as the subfile record number. If I allow the user to delete single records this logic doesn't work. Currently the user can change each record and also delete all records. I would like to add an option to allow a delete of several records. Thanx in advance!!
