Look at the file  information status data structure.  You'll  find the
relative record number in the documentation.  The documentation crosses
several manuals,  so don't get discouraged.   Start with the RPG manual.  A
quick trick to using binary  numbers is to Z-Add the binar field to a
numeric  field.
