Chris, Do you allow the use of procedures in your shop, such as: C eval answer=myproc(parm1:parm2:parm3) or C callp myotherproc(Parm) If one fails to create a procedure reference manual myproc or myotherproc the above would be no better than CF answer=myproc(parm1:parm2:parm3) CF myotherproc(Parm) ChrisB@cross-check.com on 08/12/99 01:57:57 PM Please respond to RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet To: RPG400-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: RE: CF-Spec - another call for opinions Hans, What I have been reading about "C" is it is like your option 2. Would it not be easier to add rpg type opt code function to "C". Then we can all switch to "C" and RPG could just Die. Don't get me wrong, I love RPG. It was easy to learn and is easy to read. "C" on the other hand is all based on functions, which there are lots of in different libraries. I find "C" difficult to read and follow. Lets keep RPG simple and understandable. Keep the op codes. My vote is for option 1. My humble option Christopher K.
