John,

I recently got the book "C for RPG Programmers" by Jennifer Hamilton via
Duke Press. ISBN 0-9628746-6-1. It is a little behind the times as far as
RPG goes, used RPG III examples.

CPG could be a hybrid and give us the best, (or worst), of both languages.
But is that not the whole ILE environment? Yes RPG needs better array and
string processing. The ILE gives us the "C" functionality to create our own
procedures, in any language. Hey, any one out there with a "C" compiler
want to write the missing functions as procedures for RPG?
