My first question is WHY do you not want to execute the RPG is no records are selected? If this is an interactive job, Don't you want to give a message stating that there was no records meeting the user selection? If a batch report is being submitted based on the user selection, do you not want to print the report header, including the user selection, then a message stating no records met the selection criteria? When no output is generated does not your users look for the output, report the program has an error and/or resubmit with the same selection? I say don't worry about no records are selected and let the RPG handle the fact. Christopher K.
