I hope you are talking about from CODE session to CODE session. If so try this: From the Edit pulldown select Block. You will see the list of stuff to do what you need. I use the ALT+?. This is what I normally do: ALT+L to select first line Arrow down and select line with ALT+L(this gives you a set of 'blocked' lines) Then move the cursor to another spot in the source or switch to another CODE session and set the cursor ALT+C to copy block ot ALT+M to move the block ALT+U to unmark the source One of the best features of this is that you can do Columns (rectangle/character). Try that in SEU. Use ALT+O (overlay) instead of ALT+C or ALT+M. ALT+C/ALT+M will shift the source. I use it to remove mod marks in the 1st few columns. Select a rectangle of source, move the cursor and hit ALT+O, move the cursor down to the end of the block and hit ALT+O again. If you are using RLU, you should be REALLY inpressed with DSU. It is like night and day. I played with RLU once and said NO WAY. From then on, I manually coded all my PRTFs until we got DSU. All help is online. The CODE/400 manualS, REXX manualS, and the VARPG manualS are all there. Also the RPG III/IV manuals are a key press away (hit F1 on an opcode once). Locate BAR400.EXE in the ?:\adtswin dir and add a shortcut to it to your startup folder. This will give you quick access to the manuals. I moved it to the top of my screen. I use it all the time to look up stuff. As for the crashes, post your concern to the ibm.software.code400 on the newsserver news.software.ibm.com. The developers are very good at answering questions and problems. The other choice is to go thru Supportline (or whatever it is called now a days). I could take a few guesses at it, but I don't know if any would work. Yes you can debug batch pgms, but I am sorry to say that I don't remember the steps right now. I have been doing most of my work lately in VARPG. I think the VARPG webpage has some help on that question somewhere on the support page. Just play and play some more. Try out all the menu options and key combinations. Also in the CODE/400 window enter EXTRAS ON in the command line (Press ESC). This will give you a pulldown called Extras with a lot of neat stuff on it. And make sure you are using test source and not production when playing. :-) Playing is how I got most of my knowledge on CODE/400 and all its tools, the macro stuff, and VARPG. -- Scott P.
