My opinion of Panel Groups are that they are wonderful from the user aspect, but sure a pain from a programmer standpoint! They are very, very particular about every little period and space, but you don't find your errors until you compile the panel group! This is a case where copying an existing one is the easiest way to tackle it (tough on the first one, I realize!). There is a wonderful book called Unleash the Power of UIM (available from MidRange Computing) that will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about panel groups. I also think I have some info (somewhere!) from someone who has a tool, similar to SDA or RLU, that simplifies the process, if you get into them really big time.
