I am receiving some good advice, and I am very grateful for that.

I'm still wondering if I have to install any kind of 'SQL tool' on a client PC
in order to access the SQL database - other than maybe configuring the SQL ODBC
driver on each client PC?

I am trying to configure the SQL ODBC on the client PCs, but the connecton is
refused - and I don't know if it is an authority thing or not.

The SQL Server Management Studio tool can be a great help in working
with sql server or sql server express.
