No issues on any of my PCs running XP or Vista. You might consider just
un-/re-installing it.

I've had a similar issue with Outlook (XP or 2003; don't recall which
version) before but haven't since I went to Office 2007 on Vista. I'd
close Outlook & it'd sit there chewing up more & more RAM until it had
allocated 700+MB on a 1GB machine. Then, some 20+ minutes after I told
it to, it'd finally close. Assuming I hadn't killed it via Task Mangler
before then.
