That sounds like the support that we've had.  You call, the Dell tech shows
up and fixes it, done.  I can't say about the accent.  They usually don't
talk much.

We had a policy of replacing PC's automatically every three years.  Last
year, in an effort to reduce costs, management unfortunately decided to
drop that policy.  Now, it's on a as-needed basis.  It was coincidence that
mine HD died pretty much "right on schedule" and a big surprise when I was
told I would get a new one when other, more deserving people were given a
used laptop when theirs died.  Still, I didn't turn it down because who
knows when my chance would come again.

We buy laptops, desktops, and servers with a 3 year gold support
warranty.  When the warranty expires, so does the machine; they get
replaced.  Not everything gets replaced right away, but we don't fix
anything that is out of warranty.

Dell Gold corporate support is worth the extra pennies.  Every time I've
had a service issue, one call (different # with little to no time on
hold) has been all that was necessary to get replacement parts/service.
And the accent usually matches my own.

Funny you should mention this.  The HD in my 3-year old Dell laptop here
at work just bit the dust last month.  Management, elected to buy me an
entirely new laptop instead of just replace the HD (and I didn't even
offer any input for that decision).  Go figure, but I'm not complaining.
