I'm comparing a couple of different laptops and am seeing huge ($300+) price difference between one using the Intel Core Duo T2300 and another using the T2400 chip set. The relative speeds are 1.66 and 1.83 respectively. In all other aspects the two configs appear identical. Does such a tiny difference in speed really make this much difference? If you look at the price of the chips themselves it would appear not but ... On this basis I can buy the cheaper machine and take the memory up to 1.5 Gig and up the hard drive to 7200 RPM for less than the cost of the extra CPU horsepower! Given that WDSC is really memory hungry that would seem like a good idea. Is the extra horsepower really worth it given that the only graphics I am interested in come from playing movies? If it matters the machines are ThinkPads. Jon Paris Partner400 www.Partner400.com www.RPGWorld.com
