Brute force, but you could rename notepad.exe and place a shortcut to notetab in the \Windows directory. Rename the shortcut to notepad. John A. What is not working is that it shows that NoteTab should be the editor for the .txt type file, and it actually opens NoteTab when a .txt file is double clicked, but the file that was double clicked does not get loaded into NoteTab. Something is broken, and I want to fix it. I have uninstalled/reinstalled NoteTab, I have changed the .txt back to it's default (NotePad) and reassigned NoteTab to be the editor of choice, but it still does the same thing. I have changed, rebooted, stood on my head, held my breath :^) - nothing changes, except I turn a lovely shade of blue. NoteTab starts, but the file chosen does not load with the start of NoteTab. Any other ideas?
