I'll be honest with you, I am not that familiar with the instructions you posted.  But the last line said this for the "unsupported" install:

If you see message QSH005: “Command ended normally with exit status 0” in the job log you’re all good. If not, consult /tmp/bootstrap.log.

Did you check the bootstrap.log?  Anything of value there?

If you're moving to Yum packages get rid of 5733OPS.

Looks like you installed PTF for OPS and you're trying to run Python3

via Yum version which is newer.

I could see that causing some system confusion possibly.

No, I did not remove 5733OPS and applied SI69338.

The yum installation is complete.
but when I run /QOpenSys/pkgs/bin/yum from QSH, I get the following
error:
Process terminated with signal 5as400

Execution error from qp2term An error will occur if an error occurs.
Illegal instruction (core dump)
