I'm not sure why you though I was referring to Python 2. The email of
yours I responded to specifically mentioned Python 3.4. The problem was
that your PATH did not have /QOpenSys/pkgs/bin on it, so you found the OPS
Python 3.4 instead, which places a symlink in /QOpenSys/usr/bin so it's on
the default PATH. All software installed by ACS is under
/QOpenSys/pkgs/bin, so you must either fully qualify them or adjust your
PATH to find them.

Regardless, now that you've resolved your PATH issues you need to recreate
your venv. The Python version for a venv is set at the time of its
creation and there's really no way to change it.

Also, FYI: ACS certainly did _not_ install Python 3.4 as we've only ever
shipped 3.6 via yum. I don't know why Jack told you different.

I didn't "gloss over it".  I just didn't understand it.  Kevin said I
had the 5733-OPS version, but the page he referred me to was about
setting a path, not upgrading python.  So I thought he was referring to
my python 2.7, not my python 3.4.  Because the python 3.4 was what ACS
installed.  Jack points out that I need to upgrade that using yum.  I
don't think ACS will do that.

At the end of the day, it seems that the ACS open source support is more
of a starting point.  Then you need to use yum to get to the latest and
greatest.
