I'm sure the OP could build a .NET service in a few hours to accomplish this, provided he knows the language. He could probably do it faster natively in Java, or any of the other plethora of languages supported on IBM i.

The more people, computers, languages, frameworks, etc, that you add vastly increases the complexity.
