Since when? Show me a color overlay you want, show me what printer
you want it on,
and show me what system you want it done in. I don't care if it's an
iSeries, an RS/6000, or

I know a guy that has to create postscript code in the program itself,
in order to get halfway decent output.

Dear God. Seriously. You make it sound like he's coding it in assembly.


Of course one can just drop all the System i printing stuff, and just
send PDFs generated using Java down to the Client's browser. But then
again, he could run the same Java Stuff on Windows or Linux, with no
disadvantages whatsoever, and the advantage of having faster, better
supported and less expensive systems.

There are no limitations in iSeries boxes which cannot be overcome. The only
limitations are in the programmers which sit in front of them.
