Last year I too found myself in a situation where I was going to be "forced" to sign a VERY restrictive non-compete. They even tried to pressure us into signing them the day the passed them out. Fortunately I read the paragraph that said that we had reviewed this with our personal attorney and thus agreed to all clauses. I spoke up about the issue and we were given an additional week or two to have it reviewed. On the deadline day for signing, I went to the HR department, handed the unsigned copy to them, Saying I can't sign this, but I can sign this (my resignation letter). I started the next Monday @ the company that prompted the non-compete in the first place!!! ( A competitor that a number of people had gone to that had quit/been let go by the first company). Don't sign it!!!!! Mark Allen I.S. Manager Wilkes Telephone & Electric A Dycom Company Phone: (706) 678-9565 Email: allenmark@nu-z.net http://www.nu-z.net
