Hi Gio,
If you imported the certificate as a CA (Certificate Authority) and this
is a client certificate then yes, remove the CA version first.
When I install client certificates I include the year the certificate
expires in the label which helps keep the labels unique, for example we
have a wildcard certificate so I label it star2026 as it expires in 2026.
You can name the label anything as long as it does not exist.
Hope that helps.
Thanks
Don

Subject: R: Import certificate : Error A cryptographic error occurred
Hi Don
Before i was on error for the wrong password .
Now that i input the correct password, i receive this error:
"a certificate with the same label or public key already exists in the
certificate store
If the certificate that is being imported was already imported as an AC
certificate, remove that AC certificate before trying the request again"
Thanks in advance
Gio

If the csr (certificate signing request) was not generated using dcm then
you will need the certificate in pkcs7 or similar format that incudes both
the private and public keys.
ASAIK this requires the file to have a password.
I am surprised that you are not being prompted for a password when you are
trying to import the certificate.
I would suggest you ask whoever supplied the certificate to re-export in a
format that has both keys and apply a password.
The other option would be to use openssl to work with what you have.
Cheers

Subject: Import certificate : Error A cryptographic error occurred
Hi all
I'm try to import a Server / Client certificate in DCM, but i receive the
error : "A cryptographic error occurred".
The person that created the certificate told me that the certificate has
not
password .. question: for import the certificate on IBM i, the password is
mandatory or Not ?
As the error message is very generic , how could have a detailed cause to
better understand which could be the problem .
N.B. the certificate is .PFX format
Thanks in advance
Gio
