You import CAs in the chain separately from the certificate. Starting with
the top in the chain and on the way down. Normally I get a "this already
exists" error for top level CAs and just move on to the next one. Then
finally import the certificate itself.

I don't know if IBM made this easier and automatically strips out and
imports the CAs with a certificate automatically, but I doubt it.
