In regard to OA-RPG, I don't have much more to say. It's understandable
that those who have invested in it may defend it. In regard to the original
question, asking about AI tools that generate code as opposed to hiring a
programmer or yourself learning how to develop web applications, I'm not
aware of AI tools. In regard to AI in general, what began as algorithms
used to calibrate devices such as scanners and OCR readers, later morphed
into algorithms for consuming content, digesting it, making associations,
and summarizing it. But it still lacks imagination.

We use a code generator for inquiry and maintenance applications, which
generates quite a bit more functionality than traditional CRUD applications
and utilities. For example, it provides robust query capability, data
exports, and links to related data such as parent-child, such as order
header-order details. We also generate code for modules that we refer to as
database-event handlers, which handle data validation and database updates
that may be triggered by other database updates. This allows us to
jump-start development of broadly-scoped business systems, which implement
more modular design patterns, as opposed to retaining an investment in
traditional code, which is often encumbered by technical debt.
