Hello Jim,

Almost assuredly that needs to be at least an LU6.2 device on the mainframe. IBM i creates them on the fly when STRPASTRH is used so we don't have to mess with them between IBMi instances.

Well, 3270 terminal sessions on the Mainframe work differently, as I've learned in the past Months. Even over APPN connections, they're pure LU2. *Maybe* they can be defined as APPC (LU6.2), but I've not seen any documentation on this.

According to what I've gleaned from some 5250 manuals, the hardware terminals were using LU7. If I understood the meaning there correctly.

SNA: A fascinating topic. It's so fundamentally different to everything I know, and I'm skilled with IP, IPv6, AppleTalk and IPX.

:wq! PoC
