They DO need to exist locally, somehow.

One way is to do that via the HMC.

Another though is to have a Windows/Linux/MAC VM at that sight that you can connect to and start a session. That way when your VPN dies, (and it will) you can reconnect to the session or reconnect to that VM.

But what happens if we lose our VPN connection.

It appears that the console session is lost.

If we create the console sessions as shared from the HMC itself in the data center then they remain no matter if we lose our connection or not.

What is best practice here?
