Well clearly if it's truly incompatible FTP won't help other than to get an
unusable file onto the machine.
I am not sure how well the TGTRLS parameters line up between SAVRST vs SAV*
but I'd expect them to be the same.
If a save file supported by the old release can be created and used then
SAVRST ought to work.

In addition, the OP told about a (much) older OS release on the second
machine, so savrst probably wouldn't work anyhow: It enforces the same
restrictions like using save files directly.
