I learnt all the joys of DCM in the last year when suddenly that job was
dumped on me and I could get no support from our certificate people who
don't know IBMi.

But our environment is probably not standard since I could not use DCM to
issue certs. What I had to do was use our in-house system for certificate
management and firstly generate a sort of certificate request providing DNS
and some cost center stuff. That then gave me a unique number which I then
went into DCM and created the CSR using that unique number as the OU.

Once I got the CSR generated I would go back to our in house system, enter
the CSR into some web page and the reference number and the system woul
then hopefully produce a signed cert which I could then import into IBMi
using DCM.

It was a challenging process to sort out eventually but getting back to the
OP's query, when the cert is about to expire (about 6 weeks before) our
in-house system sends out an email to warn us so DCM is not involved in
managing expirations.

Just wondering the best/easiest way to handle keeping CA certificates
renewed/current.

I thought in the old DCM there was a way to auto-renew, or at least click
a button to renew the CA?
