I think Rob is right about this.
You have to follow your favorite packages and know when to yum update.
You also have to follow the CVEs for security threats.
It's laborious, but it's how everything works nowadays in the
Internet-attached world, driven about 95% by open source and under attack
from every direction.
The panes of the glasshouse shattered long ago and are lying in shards on
the floor.
