I was not aware of that preference setting. Thanks!

I had this same thing in iACS.

I was able to resolve the issue. I added another message ID CPA32B2 with
reply I and that did the trick.
Thanks, Darryl.

If you are running an interactive session and execute the drop statement
within STRSQL then you should be able to respond to that error.
Somehow, I don't think this helps your situation though.

How about creating a 2nd table by selecting only the columns you want to
keep from the original table.

Subject: SQL0952 when dropping a column

I am trying to drop a few columns from a work file. I can only delete the
fields after the file is built.

When I run ALTER TABLE QTEMP.XXX DROP COLUMN X1, I get SQL0952.
I displayed the job log and see the drop triggers a message CPD32CC that
cannot be displayed advising that data will be lost. The system cancels the
job.

I added CHGJOB INQMSGRPY(*SYSREPL).and added an entry monitoring for
CPD32CC which is displayed in the job log.

This did not help.

What other suggestions are there?

TIA, Darryl Freinkel
