I believe you will be stuck in an endless battle with your network people over port restrictions if you use FTPS versus SFTP. Let me clarify, using SFTP will be better received by your network people.

Just this week I had to use a putty client to connect to my VTL. Never done this in my life. Trying to get diagnostic data off of it. Logged on. Tried to use ftp. Not a valid command on it. Listed valid commands. It did not list scp (which someone else on this list suggested). I figured, WTH, might as well try it. So I figured I could scp from it to an aix server, use filezilla from my pc client to the aix server, then use the VTL's support website to upload the data. So I typed in
scp /ddr/var/core/kernel-20210605-02.07/vmcore.gz root@tsmaix:/tmp/.
With tsmaix being the name of my aix server
Zero setup. Prompted me for the password. Worked like a champ.
