That is what I would switch to if I ever have to implement a new one, and switch all the old ones to that. I'm currently using a binary that was floating around one of the old AIX sites. Either Perzl or Bullfreeware. We use it in CL's to do stuff like this.

/* Create command for qshell */
CHGVAR VAR(&CMD) VALUE('/medtron/gpg/medgpg.sh +
''/medtron/gpg/gpg -ar +
securedata@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:securedata@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> -e --batch +
--no-secmem-warning --always-trust -o ' +
*CAT &LINKC *CAT ' ' *CAT &LINK *CAT '''')
/* Add an environment variable - I hate PCs */
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_QSH_CMD_OUTPUT) VALUE(NONE)
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000)
/* Run the qshell command to encrypt file */
STRQSH CMD(&CMD)

The little wrapper program has this in it.
# Medtron wrapper for gpg. Set some environment variables and call what is passed in.
HOME=/medtron/gpg
export PASE_SYSCALL_NOSIGILL=plock=0
$1

I have the gnup2 rpm loaded on my system, and I vaguely remember testing with it and finding it was easier to use, but i can't find the programs.

You're talking about the gnup2.ppc64 rpm package?

subject: Re: Thoughts on DIY PGP

We've done it for years with an AIX binary of gpg. If we ever have to

write another, I'll switch to the ibm provided rpm version on all of mine.

I'm pretty sure I wrote a test cl and a document on importing keys. I'll

look around this afternoon and see if I can find it. The only place we use

it is for sending stuff via FTP, and we push hard now for everything to be

SFTP, so I may never have to make that switch.

The most recent Java group PTF broke my JAR, and to continue I'll need to

update to the latest version of Bouncy Castle. I'm a little embarrassed to

say that I'm on the Feb 2013 version, so I suspect it'll take a significant

amount of rewriting to get it functional. It seems to be a good time to

look around and see if there's a better option.

Is anyone doing DIY PGP? If so, any suggestions?

TIA
