Didn't even notice that. Not me. Another developer who is 100% IBM. Doesn't like having to use client access and would still have a terminal if he could get away with it. Anything not written in RPG or CL is PC. Suppressing the output so that you don't get the terminal screen popping up apparently offends his sensibilities.

Off-topic: I found it somewhat amusing that there is a comment about

PCs, even though PCs are not involved here. It would seem that the

commenter (don't know if it's you or someone else) associates

environment variables with PCs, but of course the PC simply copied the

concept from previous systems (definitely Unix, perhaps others).

(Apparently, DOS 1.0 didn't even have them!)


Or does the term "PC" also include Unix, Linux, and Mac, in a similar

way that in some regions, the term "Coke" also includes 7-Up, orange

soda, and root beer?
