Db2 does not allow joins in an update...

set sdsps# = '131358787', sdconsig# = 932976
where
(sdsps# = '131357867' or sdsps# = '131357868')
and exists (select 1
from ptist00 P
where p.stdid# = w.sddid#
and stshtocity = 'RENO'
)

I assume you're aware of the UPDATE statement
update mytable t
set tgtfld = (select srcfld
from othertable S
where S.key = T.key)

Also MERGE is often a great alternative
merge into mytable t
using (select srcfld
from othertable)
as s
on (s.key = t.key)
when matched then
update set tgtfld = srcfld

What have you tried? What isn't working?
