The SD prefix fields are in WHSSD00 and ST are in PTIST00. I only need to
update WHSSD00.

I tried this but it's not right. I've been googling but I can't find
anything that looks right.

update whssd00 set sdsps# = '131358787',
sdconsig# = 932976
join ptist00
on sddid# = stdid#
where
(sdsps# = '131357867' or sdsps# = '131357868')
and stshtocity = 'RENO'

Hard to tell

I assume you're aware of the UPDATE statement
update mytable t
set tgtfld = (select srcfld
from othertable S
where S.key = T.key)

Also MERGE is often a great alternative
merge into mytable t
using (select srcfld
from othertable)
as s
on (s.key = t.key)
when matched then
update set tgtfld = srcfld

What have you tried? What isn't working?

I need to update one table based on values from two tables.

This is the select that works, but I want to update values in whssd00.

select count(*) from whssd00
join ptist00 on sddid# = stdid#
where (sdsps# = '131357867' or sdsps# = '131357868')
and stshtocity = 'RENO'

How can I change this SELECT to update the value in SDSPS#?

Thank you.
