The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

As I recall, deleting a record is largely just setting a "deleted" flag
in the record header. All the rest of the data remains the same.
(Probably there is also maintenance of a list of deleted records.)
So some enterprising people wrote code to reset the "deleted" flag.
You may be able to find more info in the archives or with Google. Or
maybe someone can point you in the right direction.
