This is basically a system configuration issue.

Usually simpler to use a different IP on the box than the one your VPN routes through.

So effectively you end up with vpn.mysewrver.com <http://vpn.mysewrver.com/> and public.myserver.com <http://public.myserver.com/> and the Apache config (or whatever server you are using) will reflect the routing based on the IP. Alternatively I guess you could also use a port range - but the guys I trust to advise me on stuff like this always want a separate address.

I'm sorry. Obviously I was very unclear as to my intentions. (It's
Friday) Btw, I use Postman.

I want to write the apis on an IBM i that is accessible from the web. I
have written a number of apis but they are only accessible while using my
vpn. I want to write some apis on an IBM i which can be called without a
vpn. I also mention IWS as that is what I'm currently using although I
have used httpapi in the past.

If I'm way off in hoping that something like this would be available, let
me know. It may be just too great of a security risk to make this
available. I'm not sure as I'm just starting down the webservice road.

Thanks again,

Rob

Me too. I have also Postman and SOAPUI - but Insomnia has (for me) a more
intuitive interface.

Robert,

I use the Insomnia Core package -

I use it to test my REST APIs on the IBM i all of the time.

Hi all, I want to test calling REST APIs and IWS from the internet.
Would
anyone know how I could do this?

Thanks,
