Is this going to be an OS offering Nathan?

I did a quick test and didn't get what I expected.

This:
{ "name" : X , "another" : 12 } gives what I would expect namely nodes called name and another with values X and 12 respectively.

But this:

[ "name" : X , "another" : 12 ] gives me two un-named nodes withe the values name and X respectively. The second element (another) is not reported at all.

I'm currently working on a new JSON parser, written in ILE RPG.

This parser works a little differently than any other I've come across. It
forgives JSON errors and generates a node tree that includes useful
information about any nodes encountered in the stream. An API is available
for retrieving that information.

Here's a link for anyone who might like to test the parser by pasting their
own JSON text stream and viewing a report of the node tree.

For example, you might copy and paste something like the following:

{"menu": {
"id": "file",
"value": "File",
"popup": {
"menuitem": [
{"value": "New", "onclick": "CreateNewDoc()"},
{"value": "Open", "onclick": "OpenDoc()"},
{"value": "Close", "onclick": "CloseDoc()"}
]
}
