I have a totally unfounded hypothesis that after x number of connections to different systems something is not getting shutdown and that is causing issues.
Let me test that...
Well, I was not able to duplicate that outside of a stored procedure by copying/pasting this into Run SQL Scripts and just changing the system name and then running some of them back to back.
UPDATE GDISYS . QUSRBRM . QA1AFS
SET FSXCMD = FSXCMD
WHERE FSNAME = 'QLNKOMT' ;
