For direct attach no switch is required. Appropriate configuration of
the VTL IS however because you would need a Virtual Library configured
on each port of the VTL that you want to use. You are sharing the VTL
system but not specifically the library withing the VTL in this case.
Subtle difference perhaps but different.
Yes you CAN use a switch and then share a single Virtual Library through
the switch.
