Well, that update makes a difference. One of our systems is a 8286-41A. IBM i hosting IBM i for disk. However FC and Ethernet is hosted by vios.
Our VTL is attached via FC.
With the FC virtualized, and multiple "drives" configured in the VTL we can backup all the guest lpars at the same time to the VTL. Significantly reduces downtime.
We have a SAN switch between the Power system and the VTL.
We do NO dynamic lpar anymore. No need to.
