I've not worked with cache batteries since P6 days. We bypassed P7's. Same rule about ensuring you following the steps about:
"Force the cache battery card into an error state in IBM i (to prevent possible data loss)" to avoid being put on the no entry list into the building.
"Ensure that the cache battery card is disconnected for at least 60 seconds before you connect the new battery. This is the minimum amount of time needed for the adapter to recognize that the battery has been replaced."
Back on P6's people got really handy on building their own with parts from Batteries Plus. Actually I think you may be able to get them there.
