One thing we're doing (and may be rapidly changed) is to use RUNRMTCMD to an older Windows 7 PC with the deprecated Client Access on it. That then talks to a Windows server using pstools. The endpoint server then gets dnstools ran to update DNS Addresses during a HA switch.
Boss is getting gung-ho on kicking Windows 7 to the curb.
I'm not going to run "unsupported" stuff like CA on Windows 10 or newer.
A standalone PC running in a DC is rather ugly. So it will probably become a virtual PC. Either that, or the replacement will talk directly to the server to initiate dnstools.

I don't suppose someone has migrated DNStools to IBM i, eh?
