You could DUPTAP up to the sequence prior containing the card data, 2nd DUPTAP with append, starting at the sequence after the card data, then resave only that library, omitting the object.

I agree with Patrik here.
The boss and I have discussed this possibility and he would sooner trash our only backup from a year ago than to leave something like this behind. Even though, as Patrik mentioned, one could restore and resave omitting the data in question.

No, it's not possible to delete individual objects from an existing backup. All you can do is restore the backup to somewhere, delete the data in question and redo the backup.
