it this way: on my 1920x1080 screen, the maximum area taken up by the
5250 display (including the status line at the bottom) is about
1060x740. So yes, a very large black border area all around it. But
then again, it's exactly the same way on my desktop with a 24" monitor:
if I maximize the window, much of it is black border (the area actually
used is the same 1060x740).


Yes, that is why I use the "PComm Session" scalable font because
it eliminates most of those black borders. But I also never maximize my
session windows because that causes stretching of the font. I can drag
the session borders to whatever size I want and the scaled font doesn't
stretch the letters. So, in this case there is *some* black border either
on the sides or the top/bottom but not both.
