compile the same LF DDS against both will both LF's have the same
record id? Now, since the OP's first file was against a PF and the
second one was a Join LF might that be the reason for the different
record id?

Yes, I wondered about that but didn't say anything since I didn't
really know. I know that just a PF vs. simple LF difference won't matter,
but didn't know about what happens if you throw a JOIN in there.
