How old are the files?
There was a bug way back that caused some format level IDs to be
miscalculated...

As I'm a dino with as400, I knew about this bug and recreated all related
files on another system and got the same problem. Afterwards I reproduced
the problem with a mimnimalized example. The workaround by recompile the
programms isn't too hard, but i don't like problems I don't understand to
the end!
