Thank you for your detailed response. I have 5733SC1 installed and I have both the PTF you listed, SI57762 plus the superseding PTF, SI70818 installed.

But still shows the old SSH version. Is there a new location for the SSH client. Currently using
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSH/openssh-4.7p1/

The only directory under OpenSSH.

What would happen if I pull the files from a system that works but running V7R2? They are located: /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSH No sub directory.

Subject: Re: 5733-SC1

If you have 5733SC1 installed, then it would be "upgraded" by PTF

SI70818 SC1-UTL Update OpenSSL to 1.1.1c

not sure the OpenSSH version in that PTF.
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas3SI70818

I see that the PTF supersedes:
SI69653 SC1-UTL Upgrade OpenSSH to 8.0p1

If you "exactly need" 6.9p1 then PTF
SI57762 SC1-SSH-UNPRED UPGRADE OPENSSH 6.9p1

would be the one. (it is in the supersede chain)

if you do not have 5733SC1 installed you'll need to get it from the IBM
ESS software site, then install the PTF you need
