When doing a tape restore to a new system(hardware) you should only have to perm apply LIC ptfs(57xx999). the OS and LPP ptfs should be ok if temp applied.

That's what I always did when I used image catalogs. For our single partition system, I switched to save files because I found them more reliable.

FYI, if you're doing a restore to the new hardware, remember that temp applied PTFs aren't restored. We learned that the hard way when our BP failed to mention that little tidbit.
