A few compelling reasons off the top of my head...

It's not supported anymore. That's compelling enough. We've beaten 7.1 to death for nine years...an eternity in computing.
Java 6. Yes you can load Java 7 and 8. But still.
SMB1. Microsoft has been beating that drum for years.
There are 4 (count 'em) ciphers that are not deemed broken on 7.1. That's if you're running with encryption. If you're not, you should be. And that's if you've got TR6 installed and the new ciphers and TLS 1.2 turned on manually. Otherwise you have two decent ciphers to negotiate with. Hope you turned the other ones off.
Paying extended maintenance doubles your regular SWMA charge. It costs less money to upgrade.

All the features and functionality built into 7.2/7.3 provides enough positive reinforcement without the aforementioned negatives. Things like RCAC. Your old OPNQRYF will use SQE in 7.2/7.3. Authority Collection. The HUGE amount of IBM i services offered. All the open source stuff.
