Here is a casual thought... While you work through all of the research
and evaluations, maybe think about some minor, and I do mean minor,
daily report that would interest an influential group, and put it up as
a web page on your machine? Nothing complicated. As close to a Hello
World as you can get. Get your toes wet. Even if it is abandoned,
it'll broaden your evaluations of other choices.
Folks here are very good and surprisingly patient, so you can be running
parallel paths while you evaluate.
